Accessibility Statement

This accessibility statement explains how accessible the Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) website is and what is being done to improve it.

This accessibility statement applies to content published within the www.proni.gov.uk domain. It does not apply to content in PRONI online applications linked via this domain, which have their own accessibility statements. It also does not apply to content on any third-party domains linked or signposted within this content.

This website is run by PRONI and is designed to be used by as many people as possible. The text should be clear and simple to understand. You should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts using browser or device settings
  • zoom in up to 400% on desktop or mobile without loss of information or text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • use most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We are also committed to making the website text as simple as possible to understand.

If you have a disability, advice on making your device easier to use is available through AbilityNet.

What we’re doing to improve accessibility

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This website is subject to a pending audit to test for compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.2 level A and level AA, which will be carried out externally and independently.
