Highlights from Volume 8B

In November 1765 discussions began on making the port of Rathmullan a discharge port for the City.
In April 1766 the notes show the Mayor was to be paid a sum of £200 whilst the Mace Bearer and Sword Bearer were paid the sum of £20 each.
In January 1767 an order is made to assist Captain [Morr] with costs for the transportation of three sailors to England who are in distress.  A further order is made for the Chamber to give ten guineas to purchase fire engines for the City.
In 1768 discussions begin with the Lord Bishop of Derry regarding the construction of a bridge across the river Foyle.
