Volunteering in Ireland, 1912-16
Dr Timothy Bowman will deliver a series of lectures examining the various volunteer organisations which emerged in Ireland during the years before the First World War. He will look at volunteering by Unionists and Nationalists as well as civic and labour volunteers and the role of women in volunteer organisations.
Timothy Bowman is Senior Lecturer in History at the University of Kent and the author of books on the Ulster Volunteer Force and the British Army 1902-1914.
