Grant of cemetery land
In the Name of God Amen
We William Grant by divine permission Bishop of Australia taking into consideration the pious and religious desires of the residents and inhabitants of Heidelbergh in the parish of Keelbundora in the County of Bourke in the Diocese and Jurisdiction ['of Australia' has been scored out] do decree this piece of ground as the same is to be enclosed around containing one acre commencing at a point forty chains ninety links west from the north east course of the portion number six and bearing south five chains thence west four degrees south two chains thence north five chains and thence east four degrees north two chains to the commencing point which said piece or parcel of land is a part of the said portion of number six which piece of ground is to be separated from all ancient common and profane use, and do by our Ordinary and Episcopal authority assign dedicate and consecrate it as the Cemetery or Burying place for the dead bodies of the Christian Inhabitants of Heidelburgh aforesaid And We do openly and publickly pronounce decree and declare that the same shall for ever hereafter continue so separated assigned dedicated and consecrated by this our definitive sentence or final decree which we make or promulgate in these writings. Saving always and in all things to ourselves and our successors Bishops of Australia all ordinary and Episcopal jurisdiction rights and privileges.
In Testimony whereof we have caused our Episcopal Seal to be hereunto affixed this twenty fifth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty three and in the ..... year of our consecration the eighth.
