Public Services and Partnership Development is responsible for:
  • On-site service for visitors wanting to carry out research in the archives. It provides advice and guidance to visitors and groups, manages the public search room, the reading rooms and the library (see main public areas) and provides a copying service.
  • Answering all written and email enquiries including requests for copies of documents and permission to publish enquiries.
  • Offering a search service in response to specific requests for information.
  • Developing and promoting the value and use of PRONI’s archives and reaching out to new audiences.
It provides an education and outreach service to schools, community groups, further and higher education students and life-long learners.
This involves:
  • the production of e-learning resources, leaflets and guides to records;
  • the delivery of an outreach programme by means of talks, workshops and exhibitions.
